The Time To Get Involved Is NOW!
What we all do in the next six months could very well determine the future of the
shooting sports for the foreseeable future. I know you are willing to step up. The
Fifty Caliber Institute is preparing now for the fight we feel is coming next January if
a Democratic President is sworn in as President. The fifty caliber community is going
to be the 1st target of the Feinsteins and the Kennedys next year. We're going to need
your help and support and we're going to have to get out and make the best effort to
vote and change the outcome of what appears to be shaping up.
NRA "F-minus" rated Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are telling Americans they
support the 2nd Amendment - their version of the 2nd Amendment NOT OURS.
Hillary’s vision of the Second Amendment includes universal registration and
licensing, bans on semi-autos, and a ban on .50 caliber rifles. The leftist Huffington
Post in an article headlined Taking on The Lobby, reported this about Obama:
"Barack Obama announced... plans to use California gun control legislation as a
paradigm for a national policy..." California? As Fifty Caliber shooters, we
especially know the tyranny of California.
Hillary, Obama and a host of players in the Congress and Senate want Americans to
think gun rights are not an issue. For us, and for millions of gun owners, the anti-gun
movement hasn’t changed, it is simply dormant.
We need to be aware that our rights are in danger and we need to stay focused on that
danger!! FCI is preparing NOW to tackle what's sure to be a long hard road ahead
defending your RIGHT to own the rifle caliber of YOUR choice. For FCI to do its job
in the coming months, we're going to need your help. You're going to need to be
informed, you're going to need to be an active participant and we'll need your financial
support. Sign up, if you haven't already, for the FCI E-mail alert system, so we can
keep you appraised of what's going on when it happens. It's very simple to do, all you
need to do is go to our website www.fiftycal.org and click on the
big, red button that says
"Signup for FCI Alerts and Newsletters". This is the only way we can provide everyone with up to the
minute information on what's happening to your rights at the State and Federal level.
The other side won't give anyone advance notice of anything, so when we need to
spring into action, time is of the essence. There won't be time to draft and mail letters.
E-mail is the key. Make sure you're registered to vote. People don't think it does, but
each vote counts. Make sure your shooting/collecting buddies are registered to vote as
well. See that they get to the polls on Election Day. Ask them to sign up for e-mail
alerts too. Financial support is important as well. And for this important election year,
FCI has done something special for you.
Blazing new territory again, FCI is always in the forefront and our next fundraiser
isn't any exception.
We've always enjoyed strong support from the manufacturers in the fifty caliber
community and once again they have stepped up to the plate to support us in our next
fundraising event. We're bringing you the opportunity to own a rifle no one else has.
The new semi-auto, .50 caliber, Model 05 from EDM Arms. Well over $9,000 worth
of rifle. A California legal variant will be available for a CA winner. EDM Arms has
been one of the most reliable supporters of the FCI in previous years, because they
believe not just in making a buck, but in protecting our constitutional rights too.
EDM Arms is under production with its new Model 05, gas-operated, semi-auto, .50
BMG rifle. First deliveries of the new semi-auto will commence in 2008. The rifle is
available with either 5 or 10 round magazines, and comes in a California-Compliant
variant, minus a pistol grip and in the .50 DTC caliber.
The Model 05 doesn’t require any tools to be disassembled; it features a gaspiston
operation, and has an adjustable buttstock and cheekpiece. The internal
components can be removed through the back of the receiver for ease of cleaning. It
comes standard with a 28 inch, Lilja, match-grade, 4140 chrome-moly steel barrel, an
integral Picatinny rail, weighs 40 pounds empty, and has an overall length of 57 inches.
Something many FCSA members don’t know (unless you’ve attended a World
Championship match at Raton, NM) is that Bill Ritchie of EDM Arms has, for a
number of years, donated a .50 caliber rifle to a lucky competitor in the Prone/Hunter
class competition each year. The winner is selected by raffle from amongst all those
registered in Prone/Hunter class at the World Championships.
